the other day i was out maintaining my little container gardens, including the old roaster pan i repurposed to be my herb garden this summer. one of my chive plants really took off and already started blooming and i snipped off all the flowers so it'll keep producing greenery through the summer.
instead of throwing away the purple blossoms, which are actually kind of pretty all grouped together, i took one of the six little shot-sized mugs my mom gave me for christmas, and turned it all into a mini flower display.
and now it's dressing up the kitchen counter.
There was a dish they served at the Cafe last time I was there that included chive blossoms. So you could try cooking with them too. I didn't taste it.
